Psalms 57:2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth [all things] for me.

Psalms 57:5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; [let] thy glory [be] above all the earth.

Psalms 57:7-10 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. 8 Awake up, my glory;  awake, psaltery and harp: I [myself] will awake early. 9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. 10 For thy mercy [is] great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. 11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: [let] thy glory [be] above all the earth.

Psalms 108:1-5 A Song [or] Psalm of David. O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. 2 Awake, psaltery and harp: I [myself] will awake early. 3 I will praise thee, O LORD, among the people: and I will sing praises unto thee among the nations. 4 For thy mercy [is] great above the heavens: and thy truth [reacheth] unto the clouds. 5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: and thy glory above all the earth.

The GLORY that lies in your tongue that rises from your inner man will come forth as you focus on the God and your heart is fixed on him, God becomes the Strength of your heart and your portion forever (Psalms 73:25-26)

When your heart is fixed on God, true praise bubbles out of your spirit because you no longer see the darkness and the storm that surrounds you but you see the Christ, and the light of His glory shines stronger for you.

When your heart is fixed on God no storm will move you. Because your inner man is calm and still in the LORD (Psalms 46:10) When your inner man finds strength from God nothing will move you.

Like the faithful and lion heart of Stephen, in the Book of Acts, who was filled with the Holy Ghost fixed His eyes on heaven.

Acts 6:8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people…
Acts 7:54-60 When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with [their] teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, 56 And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God. 57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, and stopped their ears, and ran upon him with one accord, 58 And cast [him] out of the city, and stoned [him]: and the witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man’s feet, whose name was Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon [God], and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

We must not take our eyes off Jesus when we walk on the water to Him. Though the storm be great around us Christ stands firm for us. Jesus calls us to come to him in faith and not be moved by anything around us.

Matthew 14:25-33 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. 26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear. 27 But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid. 28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth [his] hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? 32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. 33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God. (Luke 8:4-21)

“Luke 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of [this] life, and bring no fruit to perfection.”

So basically what you focus on is important. Because what you set your heart on is what will affect you; it what will take a hold of you. What you focus on becomes what you believe and what you believe is what you will receive. So focus on Christ. Focus on His WORD of PROMISE for you today.

The WORD of GOD is a seed sown into our Hearts by FAITH. Faith combined with the Word creates results that glorify God and that bring your favour. Because many a times even as believers in Christ there comes some point in our life when the Word of God that we read does not make sense to us, even our daily bible readings and somehow our worship becomes plain and tasteless. This subsequently leads us into a Dry Spell and soon we fall into depression and confusion because we have taken our eyes of the promises of God and focussed them on the pressures of life instead.

But we must take our eyes off the storm and fix it on Jesus, our SHALOM. Though things around us may not be working to our advantage but when Christ becomes our focus the raging storm is calmed by Him and the thing that troubled us no longer does because we let Christ’s Word take a hold of us instead of the problem. When Christ is made the centre of our attention, He calms the storm in our hearts. So don’t let the storm choke your faith instead let Christ deal with it for you and bring you up into high places with Him. For in Him is the fullness of life.
